Leopold, born Leopold Clinton Smith, hails from the picturesque town of Ocho Rios, Jamaica. A passionate artist with a mission to create music that resonates globally, Leopold blends his 90s musical roots with contemporary genres like Pop, Reggae, and R&B. His sound is a fusion of groovy, catchy melodies and deeply personal lyrics sprinkled with hidden gems that reflect his own life experiences and those of others. This unique combination is designed to captivate listeners and leave a lasting impression.

Leopold’s love for music was discovered at the tender age of seven, leading him to immerse himself in Jamaica’s rich cultural space. From competing in the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC) Festival of Arts to singing with his high school band ‘Rapture,’ he honed his craft and developed an undeniable stage presence. In June 2021, under the guidance of Matca Music Enterprise, he achieved a Distinction in the ABRSM Level 1 Award for Grade 3 Singing Performance, earning high praise for his exceptional delivery.

Leopold’s artistic expression extends beyond music. During the pandemic, he launched a YouTube channel, Being Leopold, showcasing vlogs, cooking videos, and soulful covers of songs by icons like Luther Vandross and Beres Hammond. His talent and dedication paid off when he won the 2022 JARIA Reggae Open University Original Song Competition, cementing his place as a rising star.

Now pursuing a Master’s Degree in Media Management at the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus, after earning a Bachelor of Arts with Honors in Integrated Marketing Communications and a Minor in Entertainment and Cultural Enterprise Management, Leopold is combining his academic expertise with his artistic pursuits. His current work in the media industry enriches his perspective and fuels his drive to make an impact.

Leopold is set to release his debut single, “Pieces,” produced by the legendary Paul ‘Computer Paul’ Henton. This milestone marks the beginning of a journey toward becoming an international artist whose music transcends borders and inspires change.
